1.5 million sq ft logistics site aimed at Tees Port market to be developed

A 1.5 million sq ft logistics site aimed at the Tees Port market is to be developed, followed a deal between db symmetry and landowner, Durham Cathedral.

The 90-acre site at Darlington is on the A66, seven miles from junction 57 of the A1 motorway and 20 miles from Tees Port.

It already has outline consent for over 1.6million sq ft of B1, B2 and B8 uses.

Simon Dixon, Development Director at db symmetry, said: “There is a chronic shortage of high quality, strategically located storage and distribution schemes available in the North East. This reserved matters application safeguards the existing outline consent.

“We have an exceptional track record in delivering premium, large-scale developments and we will be liaising closely with all stakeholders to implement a masterplan which will sit well within the area. We are now actively promoting the site.”

Colliers International is jointly advising db symmetry with Gent Visick and Carter Jonas.

Durham Cathedral is being represented by Carter Jonas.
